Welcome To Chess Middle Game Strategy
Okay, so you've survived the initial contact and maneuvers of the game. Perhaps fended off and survived a few attacks while you were at it. And, hopefully you managed to position yourself well with good development for either defense or offense,
But now the struggle begins in earnest. Now, what do you do? Where do you go from here?
This is where you develop your strategy further. You must now maintain your momentum and take full advantage of the good start you made. Study your opponent. Study his position. Learn to read the positions on the board to spot weaknesses in your opponents layout as well as his strengths. Srudy each move so you can figure out his plans and strategy. Learn to foresee where each move could lead. Remember that one well selected move by you (or one poor move by him) can change or determine the outcome of the whole game if if you are sharp enough to see the opportunity when it's presented.
The following tutorials present some of the strongest and most commonly used strategies of the masters. If you learn to understand their logic and the principles that make them strong then you can learn how to develop variations on the fly in your own games.
